The Rules

To start the game, each player draws ten White Cards.
One randomly chosen player begins as the Card Czar and plays a Black Card. The Card Czar reads the question or fill-in-the-blank phrase on the Black Card out loud.
Everyone else answers the question or fills in the blank by passing one White Card, face down, to the Card Czar.
The Card Czar shuffles all of the answers and shares each card combination with the group. For full effect, the Card Czar should usually re-read the Black Card before presenting each answer. The Card Czar then picks a favorite, and whoever played that answer keeps the Black Card as one Awesome Point.
After the round, a new player becomes the Card Czar, and everyone draws back up to ten White Cards.
Pick 2s
Some cards say "Pick 2" on the bottom. To answer these, each player plays two White Cards in combination. Play them in the order that the Card Czar should read them - the order matters.
If the Card Czar has lobster claws for hands, you can use paperclips to secure the cards in the right order.

Gambling
If a Black Card is played and you have more than one White Card that you think could win, you can bet one of your Awesome Points to play one additional White Card.
If you win, you keep your point. If you lose, whoever wins the round gets the point you wagered.

House Rules

Cards Against Humanity is meant to be remixed. Here are some of our favorite ways to pimp out the rules.
Happy Ending: When you�re ready to stop playing, play the �Make a Haiku� Black Card to end the game. This is the official ceremonial ending of a good game of Cards Against Humanity, and this card should be reserved for the end. (Note: Haikus don�t need to follow the 5-7-5 form. They just have to be read dramatically).
Rebooting the Universe: At any time, players may trade in an Awesome Point to return as many White Cards as they�d like to the deck and draw back up to ten.
Packing Heat: For Pick 2s, all players draw an extra card before playing the hand to open up more options.
Rando Cardrissian: Every round, pick one random White Card from the pile and place it into play. This card belongs to an imaginary player named Rando Cardrissian, and if he wins the game, all players go home in a state of everlasting shame.
Never Have I Ever: At any time, players may discard cards that they don�t understand, but they must confess their ignorance to the group and suffer the resulting humiliation.

'Afbeelding vrouwelijk geslachtsdeel oudste grottekening'

Een afbeelding van vrouwelijke geslachtsdelen die is ontdekt in een Franse grot, lijkt het oudste bekende voorbeeld te zijn van grotkunst.

Dat is in elk geval wat Franse onderzoekers melden in de nieuwste editie van het tijdschrift PNAS.
De afbeelding, een cirkel met een rechte lijn eronder, lijkt veel op ons huidige symbool voor vrouwen: venus, een cirkel met kruis eronder. De afbeelding is tevens de oudst bekende pin-up.

Tot nu toe was de oudste bekende grotafbeelding er een van leeuwen, nijlpaarden en andere dieren, die in 1994 in een andere Franse grot, in Chauvet Cave, werd aangetroffen. De leeftijd van deze tekeningen is naar schatting 37.000 jaar.

Schatten

De in 2007 in de Dordogne ontdekte vulva waarover de Franse archeologen nu het artikel publiceren wordt op dezelfde leeftijd geschat, maar toch denken de onderzoekers dat deze waarschijnlijk net iets ouder is dan de nijlpaarden en leeuwen.

Het schatten van de leeftijd van grottekeningen is moeilijk, omdat voor steen geen ouderdomsschattingsmethode beschikbaar is.

Rendierbotten

Van de vulvatekening konden de onderzoekers de leeftijd schatten omdat ze in de grot ook rendierbotten aantroffen. Met behulp van koolstofdatering bepaalden ze hoe lang geleden die daar terecht waren gekomen. Op basis van de toestand waarin ze de grot aantroffen nemen de onderzoekers aan dat deze slechts eenmalig is bewoond.

Homo sapiens bewoont Europa sinds ongeveer 40.000 jaar geleden. Deze tekeningen wijzen erop dat al snel daarna onze mensensoort tot het vervaardigen van kunst in staat was. En dat het vrouwelijk lichaam toen al een bron van inspiratie was.

Twijfel

Overigens is er wel enkele twijfel of de afbeelding wel echt een vulva voorstelt. Archeoloog Harold Dibble van de Universiteit van Pennsylvania verklaarde tegenover Science: "Misschien zegt dit wel meer over de mensen die de interpretatie maken dan over de oorspronkelijke kunstenaar."

EINDHOVEN - Een oefening van de brandweer in een sloophuis aan de Leostraat in Eindhoven is woensdagochtend uitgedraaid op een serieuze brand. De brand die in de keuken werd gesticht, sloeg door naar de eerste verdieping en de zolder en werd te groot, meldde een brandweerwoordvoerster.

Er moesten twee tankautospuiten en een hoogwerker komen om de uitslaande brand onder controle te brengen. Dat is inmiddels gelukt.

Morey Altman comments: Yehuda Margalit points out, it was on Friday, May 28, 1948 the Arab Legion succeeded at controlling the main Jewish street of the Quarter; they immediately destroyed the Hurva Synagogue (in anticipation of the arrival of King Abdullah) and began burning and looting Jewish shops. The International Red Cross had – to their credit – been trying to convince the Legion, at the request of the Haganah, to permit women and children to leave. The Legion repeatedly refused, demanding that there be a complete surrender of all Jews. All attempts to stop the Legion had failed, and with fighting now raging along a 20-mile front between Latrun and Ramallah, reinforcements were unavailable.
“At 11:00am on Friday, Rabbis Reuven Hazan, 70, and Israel Mintzberg, 83, walked from one of the Jewish positions toward the Arab lines. They carried a white flag made out of a bit of once-festive tablecloth tacked to a stick. Although he was shot and wounded by a sniper, Rabbi Hazan called out in Arabic, ‘Good morning. We have come to talk to you, and we want to see your commander.’” Mitzberg was held hostage while Rabbi Hazan retrieved the Haganah representative to negotiate the surrender.
After 13 days of shelling (which killed or injured hundeds of civilians) and hand-to-hand fighting, “the exhausted Jewish garrision in the Old City of Jerusalem accepted the Arab Legion’s surrender terms.”
On Friday afternoon “290 able-bodied men from 15 to 50 were taken prisoner and 1,200 women, children and aged were passed to the Jewish lines outside the walls with the cooperation of the U.N. representative and the Red Cross….the evacuation of civlians through Zion gate began on Friday evening and lasted until 2 o’clock on Saturday morning.” Fifty-one of the captives were injured; three physicans and four nurses volunteerd to stay with them.

Frank Adam comments: Another useful detail in the seated three men photo :Jewish prisoner in pukka Brit shorts and two Arab Legion guards. The corporal on the viewer’s right is a negro. So? The nearest negroes to the Holy Land are in Sudan (deeply south from Egypt) or escaped slaves from Saudi Arabia. Either way he is an immigrant to the region which is one in the eye for the Arab complaint about Zionist Jews being immigrants.
This also illustrates the crafty recruitment of the Arab Legion any number were recruited from outside Jordan in southern Syria, Lebanon, (Saudi, Iraq) and Palestine as commonly taken to be the entire country West of the River J. The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (少林三十六房, Sh�o L�n sān sh� li� f�ng), also known as The Master Killer and Shaolin Master Killer, is a 1978 Shaw Brothers kung fu film directed by Liu Chia-liang and starring Gordon Liu.
The film follows a highly fictionalized version of San Te, a legendary Shaolin martial arts disciple who trained under the general Chi Shan, portrayed by the director's adopted brother Gordon Liu.
36th Chamber of Shaolin is widely considered to be one of the greatest kung fu films and a turning point in its director's and star's careers. It was followed by Return to the 36th Chamber, which was more comedic in presentation and featured Gordon Liu as the new main character with another actor in the smaller role of San Te, and Disciples of the 36th Chamber.
