Op vrijdag 12 februari werd in de O2 Arena een persconferentie en weging gehouden.
Na een metro rit van ongeveer een uur ( als die local mij de niet de verkeerde kant op had gestuurd was het een kwartier geweest :wtf: )

Nu op zoek naar de ingang voor de pers vinden :)
Na deze gevonden te hebben, ons netjes gemeld. De badge lag netjes klaar, en ik moest weer eens door een scanner......want wapens zijn verboden.....
Sommige van jullie weten hoeveel problemen ik heb gehad met een scanner op Schiphol............maargoed dat terzijde......

Met onze badge begeven wij ons in de gangen van de O2 Arena.
Trap af, nog een trap...nog een trap....linksaf....rechtsaf....En er lagen overal broodkruimels....die heb ik maar netjes opgeruimd, later in dit verhaal kom ik er achter van wie deze kruimels zijn...
Ja ik hoor mensen, we hebben het gevonden.
Er staan stoeltjes en er lopen vechters een beetje heen en weer. Zie bekende gezichten, en onbekende. Hey, Ben Pontier zit onderuitgezakt op een stoeltje.
Ik ga ff wat handjes schudden.
Er is niet veel activiteit, heb ik het gemist ofzo ? Ben ik door de local die mij de verkeerde kant op stuurde in de metro nu te laat op de weging ?
Volgens Ben is dit niet het geval, en worden de jongens een beetje random gewogen en gaat alles heel ongedwongen. Mooi dat is een mooie instelling, gewoon een beetje hangen met zn alle en ongedwongen de nodige verplichtingen afhandelen. FTW zit netjes achter zijn desk en houd alles nauwlettend in de gaten. Simon Rutz heeft het druk met de nodige vechters en trainers te woord te staan.
Na een tijdje word het rumoerig in de catacombe ....... Badr is onderweg, en komt het zaaltje binnen. Ik besluit maar eens wat foto's te gaan maken. Tyler en Naz hebben hun bestemming in het doolhof ook wel bekend onder de naam O2 arena ook gevonden. Vanwege de strenge eisen van de O2 was het verplicht om een aantal dagen vooraf een kopie van je legitimatie op te sturen naar de O2, Naz en Tyler wisten dit nog niet ( werd pas afgelopen week bekend, en toen waren ze al weg ). Dit schattige koppel moest dus mee om foto's te maken voor op hun perskaart, en vandaar iets verlaat.
Af en toe word er een vechter gewogen, maar dit gaat zo snel dat je voordat je dit in de gaten hebt al weer gepiept is.

Ik hoor van Roy en Mustafa ( onze Kickbox.nl collega's ) dat de zaal ook toegankelijk is....ff een kijkje nemen. Missjopie, Naz en ik duiken de zaal in en zien een hele mooie arena. Er word nog druk gewerkt om alles op tijd klaar te krijgen. We waren direct onder de indruk van deze zaal. Snel even wat foto’s geschoten en weer snel terug.

Rocket van fighttalk.nl was ook aanwezig, Rocket is de begeleider van Pajonsuk Superpro Samoi, en kreeg een temperatuursverschil van 40 graden voor zijn kiezen. Brrr wat een kou hier man…ik ga hierna terug naar mn hotel en kom er niet meer uit :D
Tyler en ik besluiten te vragen of Badr onze shirts wil tekenen. Geen probleem zegt ie. Ook meteen maar ff op de foto geweest met de vechters (en trainer, thanks Gerard !) van de hoofdpartij van morgen.

Ja was echt een leuke dag. En het galaatje zelf was ook top.

Zal wel als ik in Holland ben een verslag maken vanuit ons point of view en hoe wij alles hebben ervaren..Maar dat we het voor geen goud zouden willen missen, lijkt mij wel duidelijk!

Moet wel zeggen dat het een beetje saai is in Praag zo zonder MissJopie en DonJopie...;)

Badr en Mourad worden achter de schermen gewogen. Daarna besluit Joop Ubeda maar eens op te stappen, en verdwijnt met de weegschaal in 1 van de gangen.
Er word nog een beetje gekletst tussen de aanwezige, en af en toe loopt iemand nog even de zaal in om het nog maar eens te bekijken. Blijft een mooie zaal. Na ongeveer een kwartier komt Joop weer om de hoek kijken....."hoe kom ik buiten ? "
er word hard gelachen, "Joop je moet die kant op en dan links, rechts etc.. "
Mij word opeens duidelijk van wie die broodkruimels waren onderweg.............
Joop gaat het nog maar een keer proberen....
Langzaam loopt het leeg, en Naz, Missjopie, Tyler en ik besluiten ook maar te gaan.
Buiten komen we de Turkse FOX verslaggever tegen en besluiten we met zn 5e de stad in te gaan.
In de stad hebben we nog een klusje te klaren :D
Een emmer, spons, en vaseline kopen....Mike Passenier had aan Tyler gevraagd of hij dat wilde regelen. Dus wij met zn 5e alle supermarkten in, en via mn mobiele google bij de apotheek vragen en plaatjes op mn mobiel laten zien of ze vaseline hebben, en laten een plaatje van een emmer en een spons zien...enne waar kunnen we dit kopen :D. Na een lange zoektocht is ons lijstje compleet

Zaterdag 13 februari, Praag, temperatuur: Koud !
Wederom zijn Missjopie en ik aangekomen bij de O2 arena ( dit keer wel de juiste metro gepakt ).
Even wachten om Tyler en Naz, maar die ariveren mooi op tijd ( 45 minuten na de afgesproken tijd……netjes … )
We weten inmiddels de weg in het gangenstelsel van de O2 en begeven ons daardoor zeer snel tot bij de ring. Hier spreken we nog ff met wat vechters en de organisatie.

Er schijnt een probleem te zijn…..niemand weet waar wij plaats mogen nemen. Er word druk gebeld met mensen van It’s showtime. Na ongeveer een half uur is er duidelijkheid, we mogen plaatsnemen achter de schermen en daar mogen wij ons verslag gaan maken.
Okay…..een vlucht van 700km gehad en dan het gala op een schermpje volgen….klinkt goed…..
NOT !
Kickbox.nl en FightClub108.nl zijn hier helemaal naartoe gegaan voor het gala, It’s Showtime heeft netjes “Special Media” pasjes geregeld, en dan gaat de O2 ons ergens in een hokje van het gangenstelsel droppen.
Lang verhaal kort.
Na 45 minuten kregen we een tafel van O2, deze werd ter plekken opgebouwd en voorzien van een mooi tafellaken. Geen stroom en geen internet want ze wisten niet dat er pers aanwezig zou zijn....... .
Patrick van Showtime kwam naar ons toe of alles in orde was, Helemaal top Patrick !! Goed geregeld, nu zitten we tenminste in de zaal !

Het sprookje van Pajunsuk blijft toch een hele mooie.
De kwartfinalist van de olympische spelen boksen was een tijd gestopt met vechten. Totdat Simon Rutz in Thailand zit te eten in een restaurant en de kok Pajonsuk blijkt te zijn……
Simon Rutz stelt voor om voor It’s Showtime te gaan vechten. Vanaf dat moment gaat het snel.
Pajonsuk keert terug in de vechtsportwereld, en maakt een zeer goede indruk. Rocket van fighttalk.nl neemt Pajonsuk onder zijn hoede en word zijn begeleider. Zo ook dit weekend, Rocket vliegt vanuit Thailand via Moskow naar Praag om bij dit gala aanwezig te zijn.

Naz komt naar me toe en zegt "Adje" loopt met Badr mee !
en ze komen daar op ! ( wijst naar de hoek vlak achter ons )

Ik besluit nog even snel naar beide kleedkamers te rennen.
Bij Badr is het een grote drukte en kom er niet meer doorheen.
"We komen daar op" word er nog wel naar me geroepen.
Ik zeg dat ik het weet, en ze aan de andere kant op zal wachten.


Bij Mourad is het een stuk rustiger, Mourad is helemaal geconcentreerd bezig en besluit niet te lang te blijven.
Ik steek nog ff mn duim op naar Gerard, en wens ze succes.
