A lot of fans were anticipating the return of TUF star Corey Hill following his horrific leg break at UFC: Fight for the Troops in December of 2008.
Hill's comeback was successful as he outpointed Jason Trzewieczynski at Raging Wolf VI: Mayhem in the Mist after fifteen minutes of action.
Hill was a promising prospect on The Ultimate Fighter after securing a win over Rob Emerson and then losing to Nate Diaz in a fight which earned him high acclaim from MMA veteran Jeremy Horn - Horn even offering to coach Hill after the show.
He returned at UFC Fight Night 12 and scored a TKO victory over Joe Veres before being submitted by Justin Buchholz on the undercard of UFC 86.
It was Hill's next outing that proved to be the destructive one as he faced Dale Hartt in Fayetteville. At the beginning of the second round, a checked kick led to the fractured tibia and fibula that put Hill out of action for so long and revealed the grim reality of how such accidents can occur in contact sports
Going the distance proves that Hill has managed to regain his fitness levels and it should help blow off some of the cobwebs he may have gathered when rehabilitating. Hill will be aiming to return to the UFC in the future and, should he string together a few wins, he will no doubt be welcomed back to the promotion.
A fellow UFC veteran Luigi Fioravanti beat another TUF cast-mate Shane Primm via Unanimous Decision on the card.
